Hello!
And may I be the first to say… welcome to my blog!
I decided to give this whole blog thing a shot and see how I like it.
This summer has been crazy! It’s been a time of many firsts and many lasts.
This summer...
1. I graduated from high school! It’s pretty crazy how fast
12 years of school went by. I could not have done it without the constant love
and support from my family and friends.
Class of 2012!
2. My sister got married! It was a wonderful day and I
am absolutely thrilled for her.
My beautiful sisters! <3
3. I started college! All I can say is WOW. BYU is a dream
come true. I am so excited to finally be here on campus. My roommate is the
best (and it’s not just because people think we are twins who were separated at
birth). My classes are wonderful. The professors are amazing and despite the
immense workload, I am staying on top of all my assignments and reading (or at
least trying to) and loving my classes. Let’s just say… the library is a
beautiful place and I am there perhaps too frequently. I am a busy girl between
school and social activities! But I am loving every second of it. :)
My roommate, Sarah, and I on the first day of college!
Ward hike to the Y!
Sarah and I having way too much fun in the library...
Allow me to explain the name of my blog: hakuna matata. It
is a Swahili phrase meaning “there are no worries”. Not
only am I huge Disney movie fanatic (this is a song from The Lion King, in case
you were wondering) but I am also a huge worrier! I stress out far more than is healthy, and I am the first to admit it!
I just recently adopted this motto and it has made all the difference in my
life. There is no reason to worry; everything will work out in the end. I know
that is true and I want to constantly be reminded of that.
And if it’s not enough to hear it from me, hear it from the
Lord:
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”
-3 Nephi 13:34
Hakuna matata!
