Let it grow...

This past weekend has been a total blast!

On Thursday, Sarah and I got out of our music class a half-hour early (hallelujah!) and ordered pizza with some girls on our floor. We sat outside and had a pizza picnic. The weather was beautiful and it was the best way to relax after a busy day of classes.

On Friday, my only class for the day was cancelled! I had the day to myself!
Naturally, I was in the library from about 9-3.  I did, however, take a break for lunch with some of the kids in my geography class at the MOA cafĂ©. The food was really good and it was fun to catch up. That night, Sarah and I went and played tennis with one of the kids from our ward. Sarah had never played before, but she got the hang of it eventually and loved watching me and Dallin play a pretty intense game. It was super fun! Then we went and got ice cream with a girl on our floor (where the workers asked me and Sarah if we were twins…) and hung out in our dorm.
Dallin, me, and Sarah playing tennis!

As for today, we begrudgingly woke up around 8:15 AM. I spent the morning in the library. After tons of planning, we decided to get a group together to go to the dollar theater that evening and watch the Lorax. That awkward moment when you only have one tiny car for 8 people… after two car trips, we all made it to the theater. The Lorax was actually really cute. But the best part was definitely the music! :) “Let it growwww….”

We then went and got some ice cream, which was divine.

Sarah and I took the first group back to the dorms and had some…interesting…encounters on the way back for the second group.

We found them sitting at Coldstone playing Uno. Naturally, we joined in. After tons of rounds of crazy Uno (which is just as the name suggests… can you say INTENSE?) we went back for the night. Now Sarah and I are going to watch the new episode of Jane by Design… so excited!

Can I just say how much I love BYU? I am so incredibly blessed to be out here! The campus is beautiful and everywhere I go I feel such a great spirit. I know that this is exactly where I am supposed to be right now and feel so fortunate. This is home. :)

So it begins...

Hello!

And may I be the first to say… welcome to my blog!
I decided to give this whole blog thing a shot and see how I like it.
This summer has been crazy! It’s been a time of many firsts and many lasts.

This summer...

1. I graduated from high school! It’s pretty crazy how fast 12 years of school went by. I could not have done it without the constant love and support from my family and friends.

Class of 2012!

2. My sister got married! It was a wonderful day and I am absolutely thrilled for her.

My beautiful sisters! <3

3. I started college! All I can say is WOW. BYU is a dream come true. I am so excited to finally be here on campus. My roommate is the best (and it’s not just because people think we are twins who were separated at birth). My classes are wonderful. The professors are amazing and despite the immense workload, I am staying on top of all my assignments and reading (or at least trying to) and loving my classes. Let’s just say… the library is a beautiful place and I am there perhaps too frequently. I am a busy girl between school and social activities! But I am loving every second of it. :)

Sarah and I having way too much fun in the library...

Allow me to explain the name of my blog: hakuna matata. It is a Swahili phrase meaning “there are no worries”. Not only am I huge Disney movie fanatic (this is a song from The Lion King, in case you were wondering) but I am also a huge worrier! I stress out far more than is healthy, and I am the first to admit it! I just recently adopted this motto and it has made all the difference in my life. There is no reason to worry; everything will work out in the end. I know that is true and I want to constantly be reminded of that.

And if it’s not enough to hear it from me, hear it from the Lord:

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”
-3 Nephi 13:34
