So I was pretty bored tonight, and I figured I'd do something crafty. I found my jewelry boxes from when I was younger and found a ton of stuff I never wear anymore. I am like obsessed with earrings, and I thought it'd be cool to turn some of my broken and old jewelry into earrings. So, excuse the poor pictures, the lighting was all wrong but it was the best I could do for a late night project!
What you'll need:
(left to right) wire cutters, jewelry pliers (up to down) earring hooks, earring posts,
a great Pandora station, (for me, Imagine Dragons pretty much does it),
And... some old jewelry. This was one of my favorite necklaces and it broke. It's not fixable, but I figured the pretty jewels, pearls, and beads were salvageable.
Begin by removing any and all pieces you'd like to use with the pliers.
Once you've done that, begin threading the pieces through the posts. For these flowers, I went ahead and bent the very bottom of the post at a slight angle so they would sit straight.
Then, I threaded the other beads on top of that.
They should look something like this.
Next, you need to prep them for the hooks. Using the wire cutter (very carefully, as I learned the hard way :/), cut the excess of the post off, leaving enough room to fold down the post to attach to the hook. Depending on the earring, I'd say cut off about a centimeter.
Using the jewelry pliers, fold the remaining post down into a circular shape that will then attach to the hook.
(Sorry, I know this picture is blurry, but hopefully you get the point.)
From there, you will be able to open the end of the hook slightly with the pliers and thread that through the hole you just made on the post. Close tightly with the pliers. And voila!

I then repeated the entire process for this bracelet. I loved the colors but really found it was a little too gaudy to wear. I simply used gold posts and hooks instead.

Come on girls, we all had these necklaces. They are a long, single strand of, honestly, ugly beads that we would wind around our necks and offset the layers.
I found one that I liked the beads on, but the silver ones looked really tarnished. An easy fix? Toothpaste.
Simply dab a little toothpaste on a tissue then onto the silver. It really helps.

Finally, my friend gave me these super pretty earrings for Christmas last year. I loved them, but they were so heavy. Upon looking on it, I thought it would make a really cute necklace! So I took off the hook, added a little gold band on it and threaded it through a gold chain.
So there you have it! That's my attempt at creativity for the day.
